COACH TIM'S QUICK TIP — BE GOOD TO YOURSELF

Spring is sprouting forth, the economy is booming, and it's truly a great time to be alive! On the other hand almost everyone I know is, at this moment, frightfully over-committed, going through a major life transition, and/or struggling through a personal challenge or family crisis of one form or another. Perhaps it's just Mercury in retrograde, or a sign of bigger and better things to come.

As a coach I encourage people to take bold actions on a regular basis; actions that often make significant differences in their lives. And I also observe times when immediate situations or circumstances cannot (or sometimes should not) be changed. What to do then?

Pause to smell a flower. Pull over and watch the sun set. Smile at a stranger passing by. Call your oldest, best friend. Laugh at the last mistake you made. Put your feet up and enjoy a glass of your favorite flavored iced tea. Silently give thanks for the visions you see, the air you breath, and the good people you have in your life. Today's message is simple one:

Always be good to yourself and make today, and every day, a great day!

FEEDBACK:
Jan of Jackson, Mississippi, contacted me after reading the last edition of Salubrations saying, "How did you know I was an M&M's addict?" Jan went on to describe how uncanny it was that she had recently put a clear decanter of holiday colored M&M's out on the counter. She explained that while she does not have a weight problem, it still takes discipline and a conscious effort to not exceed one small handful per day. Thanks, Jan!

I also heard from Donnie of Phoenix, Arizona, who is the president of a very successful health systems consulting firm which he founded. Donnie expressed his gratitude for the "right-on-time information" in the recent edition of Salubrations. He reported that he had come to a crossroads in his career path and was confused about the next steps. The information on problem solving helped him clarify his options. Good to hear from you Donnie!
