Frank Vitale, M.S.
Frank
Vitale is an internationally know speaker, trainer and interventionist
in the field of smoking cessation. Mr. Vitale has over 12 years of experience
in helping individuals from all walks of life quit smoking. He has conducted
over a hundred group programs in medical, corporate and community settings,
and he has the unique experience of coaching thousands of smokers to quit
via the telephone.
Frank has served as a project director and intervention director for two of the largest studies funded by the National Institutes of Health on smoking and lung disease. He continues his involvement by serving as a consultant to the Pittsburgh arm of the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute's ongoing research. In addition, Frank Vitale directs the International Smoking Cessation Certificate Program, a continuing education program he developed at the University of Pittsburgh for pharmacists who wish to develop competency in counseling patients to quit smoking. During 1998 and 1999 over 8000 pharmacists have been trained across the country through his program. He is actively sought as a lecturer and trainer throughout the U.S. and Europe on the subject of smoking cessation, and has recently presented in Scotland and England.
